A very fine day

July 30, 2010

Thus begins my busy, busy, weekend. Two weddings, two days, 24 hours of shooting in one weekend. Luckily both weddings proved to be a whole lot of fun. Good people, good parties and great photos!

First up was Kari and Bryan. They were married at Bhy Kracke Park, a little known overlook at the southeast corner of Queen Anne Hill and the reception was back at one of my top wedding venues, Blue Ribbon Cooking which is just below Eastlake Ave on Lake Union. Blue Ribbon outdid themselves yet again with beautiful flowers, delicious food and an awesome array of cupcakes for dessert.

The view from the window of the bride's dressing room. We got to watch some of the local kayakers kick off from shore while everyone got their hair and make-up done.

Bryan and Kari got to have their first sight with this amazing cityscape as a backdrop. The park was a great find for a sunny wedding day! And so much more private than Kerry Park, we had the whole thing to ourselves!

The bride and groom had a rose ceremony to honor their mothers at the start of the ceremony. Such a sweet idea, they had the moms in tears before they even began.

We did stop by the better know Kerry Park on our way back to Blue Ribbon after the ceremony. I love this wedding party shot. Look at those cool kids!

Back to Blue Ribbon for an amazing party. I love photographing receptions here, the west facing windows make for some cool, and ever changing lighting effects throughout the night.

Toasts from the wedding party and the family kept the bride and groom laughing (and tearing up)

Kari and Bryan used their thank you toast to raise a glass to their grandparents, who were celebrating their 63 wedding anniversary that same day. Having the same anniversary as your grandparents! Way cool.

Being a little shy about their dancing Kari and Bryan decided to share their first dance, which was to the song "I'll Be" (oh the memories of high school) with everyone. I think a full dance floor made for some great first dance photos.

They had an old fashioned photobooth present with 321 Foto, everyone got 2 copies of each photo, one to keep and one to put in the guest book. Neat!
The dance party was amazing! I think more of the parents and relatives were out there having fun then the younger crowd. And they totally rocked.

Even Grandpa got out their to dance with his daughter's and granddaughters.

Congratulations Kari and Bryan!
